Rockwheels can profile the inside of ladles and runners in steelworks. They can grind out residue and overhang with great precision and without causing damage to the ladle lining; a major advantage over hydraulic breakers.

Rockwheel’s ability to withstand higher temperatures means that less time is taken in cooling down the ladle or runner, reducing the down time of the equipment.
Any contamination by soot or lime on the heating surfaces reduces the efficiency of the boiler, increases fuel consumption and thus increases energy costs. In the worst case, it can even lead to a standstill or even total failure of the boiler system. It is therefore necessary to clean the boiler system regularly with a rock wheel cutter.
